- I just upgraded to Linux 1.2.13pl5, hoping the serial port handling improved.
- It didn't. My system is an A1200 with a GVP A1230 board, and I'm using the
- builtin serial port. I am connected to a PC running Linux with PPP.
- It's a 7 wire cable, so I use the control lines.
- When I use NetBSD, or AmigaDOS with AmiTCP, I get transfer rates of around
- 3k per second. When I use Linux, I barely get to 0.7k per second. This is when
- I am sending packets. When the PC sends the packets the rates are somewhat
- better, about 2k per second. I just hope the Linux developers are aware of
- this problem, and maybe are able to fix it.
